Gallery 3, Two Companies I Have Loved

Narrative, production and backstage shots plus designer renderings, programs and reviews from my work at the old Skylight Opera Theatre and a wonderful, Chicago organization called The City Musick whose artistic director/conductor was a brilliant musician named Elaine Scott Banks.  Such a shame that neither Scottie nor the organization are around any more.  Thanks to Francesca Zambello I got to do my first production of THE RAKE'S PROGRESS (and Chicago had its professional premiere of the opera he was first inspired to compose while in Chicago) via The City Musick.

(I should add that the soundtrack artists are the incomparable Judy Blazer singing from the Elektra/Nonesuch recording of GIRL CRAZY conducted by John Mauceri, and Riccardo Chailly conducting Philip Langridge, Cathryn Pope, Samuel Ramey, Stafford Dean and Sarah Walker in excerpts from the  London Digital issue of THE RAKE'S PROGRESS.)
